"Materia Medica of the future"
New International Materia Medica Pura Course
in Niendorf / Baltic Sea (Germany)
Invitation to the first course week in autumn 2013
Dear Colleagues,
we would hereby like to invite you to the first part of our lecture series of a new Materia Medica Pura
Course, which is planned to run for several years!
This year’s course week will take place from Saturday September 28th to Saturday October 5th in
Niendorf/Timmendorfer Strand at the Baltic Sea, Germany.
We are very much looking forward to the opportunity of beginning a new course project with Dr.
Andr. Saine from 2013 onwards.
After Andr. Saine held annual seminars in L.beck from 1997 onwards, an annual course on
Comparative Materia Medica was begun, which was initially completed in 2012. In the last few years,
an international project developed from this course, which is devoted to the systematic revision and
updating of the homeopathic Materia Medica and the repertory.
The Materia Medica Pura Project (MMPP)
Since T.F. Allen and C. Hering compiled and published their comprehensive works of the
homeopathic Materia Medica at the end of the 19th century, no further systematic revision of the
Materia Medica has taken place. The symptoms of a great number of provings, cases, clinical
experiences and toxicological reports can be found scattered among various journals. They are lying
idle, and are therfore not accessible to the practitioner in his day-to-day work. It is the main objective
of the MMPP to rectify this lack of reliable, important and practice relevant information.
For each individual remedy, a monograph (word file) is compiled with a clear presentation of the
entire characteristic symptomatology, based on provings, clinical experience as well as on a collection
of all available cases. Only reliable and, for the main part, primary sources will be considered.
Modern sources will only be used insofar as they are not speculative. In addition, participants of the
project have conducted provings of little or not proved remedies. The intention is to conduct more of
these provings. The work culminates in the presentation of the genius of each remedy (a succinct
summary of the most characteristic features of the remedy), as well as the upgrading of the repertory
(currently MacRepertory) in the form of thousands of additions and changes in the grading of the
rubrics. The aim of this work is to fill in the gaps in the existsing knowledge of our Materia Medica,
and to define its characteristic symptomatology more clearly. The ultimate aim is the creation of a
widely accessible Materia Medica which can replace the Materia Medica of Hering and Allen.
Alongside Andr. Saine – the head of the project – 40 European and 11 North American colleagues are
working on the project at present, group leaders support and supervise the work of the participants
involved. In addition to the work of upgrading the information on the remedies, the group
systematically indexes the most important homeopathic journals (at this stage primarily North
American homeopathic journals).
About 120 remedies have been completed to date, an update of more than 500 remedies is planned. Up
until now, only the attendees of the courses in Montreal and Niendorf have benefited from this work.
As yet, plans have not been finalized concerning the form any further publication will take, but it will
definitely be in digital form in order to facilitate continuous updating.
The experience of the participantes in this project has so far been very encouraging. After an in-depth
engagement with all the available sources of a remedy, the compiler in question is always able to
present a precise and reliable genius of the remedy, which often shows different and additional aspects
of the remedy to those already known, even in case of very familiar remedies. The repertory additions
and upgrading of symptoms on the basis of reliable sources increases considerably the accuracy in
prescribing.
Once completed, this project will represent a real milestone and a great step forward in improving our
tools (Materia Medica and Repertory).
All course participants who are interested in this Materia Medica work are hereby cordially invited to
join us. This extensive project can be completed all the sooner, the more people get involved in it.
Those who wish to become involved in this work will receive a detailed written introduction and will
have the opportunity to acquire the necessary basic knowledge via webinars. The group leaders are
available to answer any questions.
More about the MMPP you may learn from A. Saine himself by this little video:

The Materia medica pura Course
The course, which has taken place since 2005 with about 60 participants, is to be continued in a
slightly altered form. As of 2013, there will be an annual eight-day course at the beginning of October
with Dr. Andr. Saine and active colleagues from the MMPP. The course is planned to continue for
many years and is intended as an accompanying annual event of the MMPP. All active European staff
of the MMPP and colleagues who wish to learn genuine homeopathy with Andr. Saine will meet here
in order to share their results from the past year of the MMPP.
It will be a combination of very practice-oriented classes with many cases, and if at all possible live
anamneses and Materia Medica. The MMPP will represent a significant part of this course. Some of
the remedies will be compiled and presented by Dr. Saine himself. Further remedies will be presented
by the authors of the monographs themselves, as they know them better than practically anyone else in
the world after many months of intensive work on them. Andr. Saine will add to the lectures. MMPP
staff map out the remedies in accordance with a standardized procedure and this is supervised by
Andr. Saine, which ensures consistent quality.
The course is suitable for both experienced homeopaths and beginners, each will be able to profit in
their own way. Thanks to the detailed practice-oriented part (which is devised exclusively by Dr.
Saine) with its cases and live anamneses, there will be a relaxed atmosphere which will help avoid
overloading the event with too much Materia Medica.
The course language is English, Andr. Saine’s spoken English is easy to understand.
Information on a course and webinars with similar content in Montr.al you can find on A.
Saines.s website www.homeopathy.ca .
Dr. Andr. Saine
Dr. Andr. Saine is a Franco-Canadian, he lives and works in Montr.al. He is a graduate of the
National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon and has been Dean of the Canadian
Academy of Homeopathy since 1986. He has taught genuine homeopathy extensively in North
America and Europe for more than 25 years.
Dr. Joseph Bonyun was the first person to encourage him to study homeopathy as a student in 1976, he
first learned Kent’s homeopathy and then studied unter a number of teachers including Robin Murphy,
Bill Gray, George Vithoulkas, Francisco Eizayaga and John Bastyr.
Very early on he was not satisfied with modern homeopathy and turned to genuine homeopathy, where
he found his true teachers among the great homeopathic doctors from the era before Kent, among them
Hering, Dunham, Wells, Guernsey, Farrington, Nash, Yingling and especially Lippe. Unlike almost
any other contemporary homeopath, Andr. Saine has studied homeopathic journals and books
intensely and with immense energy for over 30 years, particularly those from the heyday of North
American homeopathy at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. It is for this reason
that he has achieved impressive knowledge of homeopathic literature and a profound understanding of
both the practical application of homeopathic principles and the experience of our old masters, which
enables him to treat even the most severe of illnesses homeopathically with great success.
„The true value of a method is shown in the treatment of severe illnesses, a malaise can be positively
influenced by any number of methods“, is roughly what Andr. Saine says. In his practice, he almost
exclusively treats people with severe physical and mental illnesses.
With his knowledge of the Materia Medica, his both precise and insightful anamneses and case
analyses which are free of interpretation and clearly comprehensible to anyone, Andr. Saine is
certainly one of the world’s best homeopaths. He is a very alert, well-read, immensely hard-working
and to boot very likeable colleague with an extraordinarily lively style of presentation.
In addition to the MMPP, he has spent many years working on the multi-volume publication on
Adolph Lippe „Lessons in Pure Homeopathy“, which is to be issued in English and German.
Another publication is the book „The Weight of Evidence“ , which is already thousands pages long
after many years of research, a presentation of a vast number of data, statistics and case presentations
which document the efficacy of correctly practised homeopathy in infectious dieseases and epidemics.

Some advice
Animals and small children may not be brought into the conference room.
You will receive certificates of attendance which show the duration and the fee paid. German doctors
should please give us their barcodes, the course is also certified by the .rztekammer (German Medical
Association).
With this letter, you will also receive an updated list of possible accommodation in Niendorf, as well
as a set of directions.
The number of participants is limited in order to guarantee close collaboration between Dr. Andr.
Saine and the participants, we would therefore recommend registering early for the course. It will be
possible to be enrolled on a waiting list, in which case the date and time of enrolment will be decisive
in the move-up procedure.
We advise booking accommodation as soon as possible, there will still be many holiday visitors in
Niendorf in late September/early October.
Please inform your landlord that, as a congress participant, you are exempt from paying the usual spa.
